What is dyslexia?

Dyslexia is a learning difficulty that primarily affects skills involved in fluent reading and spelling. Dyslexics typically have difficulties with phonological awareness, verbal processing speed and memory as well as, potentially, co-occurring difficulties with motor coordination, organisation, language, concentration and mental calculation. Dyslexia occurs across a range of intellectual abilities.
